Importing AR15 parts from the USA ***bangs head against wall***

So it seems my AO now issues and NZ customs wants to see a permit for AR15 uppers and lowers, complete or stripped.

    ho hum....all good got 2 pink forms....off I go.

    regards

One set of parts is and they are letting it through no problems as its not an upper or lower. They rang me and only confirmation hey wanted was these bits were not going on an E, so yeah!!!!

The uppers and lowers are shipped and I assume in transit as its 4+ days since Brownells shipped them. Again talking to NZCustoms and their AO guy seems OK with me sending up the pink slips once he actually sees the parts in front of him. I have the pink slips here so I will send them tomorrow anyway.

Huge improvement in dealing with NZCustoms I must admit, they could be so hard, awkward and expensive in the past, insisting I go through an import agent for second hand parts. I hope this is now typical, if so cool.

I guess we'll float along until someone "high up" changes their mind again and we/I go through this again.

This may be a dumb question but what are these pink slips, I have some AR parts arriving in the next couple of months. Are these pinks slips is what customs sends?

Pink slips is the pink coloured import permit, it is what your AO hands to you and you post it to NZcustoms when they ask for it. So most parts wont need one.

No, unless they are going in an E in which case, yes.
