Smidez Ruger American Stainless All Weather 223

After purchasing the Ruger American 17hmr and being very impressed with it I bought this Ruger American All Weather in 223.
I’ve had it since before Christmas and like it very much to. It’s well weighted (6.5lb), the stock has a good feel and is nice to shoot with having a soft recoil pad. The fore end is nice to grip with the shape fitting nicely in your hand.
The action is smooth enough, it feeds well and rounds are chamber without much effort. The trigger is the best part of it for me. I have adjusted it to around 3lb and the two stage marksman trigger allows it to be shot accurately.
I have fitted a Vortex Dimonback 4-12x40 scope with weaver quadlock rings onto the factory weaver mounts. The scope is crisp and clear and zooms very well. It has nice positive audible clicks for adjustment and the BDC reticle along with chrony info and strelok app allow me to shoot longer ranges accurately.
It has a 5 shot rotary magazine and the barrel twist rate of 1:8 so it’ll shoot heavier projectiles no problem.
The rifle itself cost me $749 and scope was $420. I am stoked with how accurate it is with Hornady 55gr SP ammo, very useful for a well priced rifle i think.

I sighted it in at the Whangarei DSA range a few weeks ago and did three shot group at 100m as below. I’m no marksman and it was the first time i had ever shot at a range so i think the rig is excellent. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a well priced and accurate rifle, i just love it.
If i could have a full time job shooting pests i'm up for over time.

probably more importantly you don't need to spend thousands to shoot accurately, a grand for a brand new SS rifle and scope is enough.
