    110 vs 130gr TTSX

Looking at grabbing some for a close bush load. Always gone by medium to large grain for calibre but keen to play with the small and fast AF. Rifle is a 20" suppressed 308 and looking for something devastating up close maybe out to 200m. Will be using 2208. Any personal experiences loading welcome.
    Cheers John

I had some good clean kill on some big bodied stags with 130gr TTSX @ 2950-3000fps in a 20” 308, most shots under 200m.

I run the 120ttsx in 7mm08 bushpig, and to be honest, ill either sell my stock off or shoot them then switch over to a bog standard gameking. ( Just my personal and only experience with ttsx)

20" 308 would be able to push them pretty hard. Another good route would be a 150gr sierra gameking. Be a good 0-400yd load. Just my 0.02c

I load the 110gr for my mates 270wsm pretty hot with 2209 and he can shoot deer through a 20cm strainer post @ 150m with them - don't ask how I know that ...

if you go back...NZHunter were running them in thier very short bush rifles 6-7-8 years ago.... there is tales of woe starting to come out re quality issues with monos as of late, the consistantcy seems to be slipping.....I do know there has always been huge difference in preformance between different monos.
personally I would go 110 as from my experiences (50 grn in 223 and 110 in 270) the faster the better) BUT other than reduce recoil they wont do anything sub 200 that a 180grn round nose hornady wont do better.....except maybe bore holes through strainer posts.....

The 180 would rip the post out of the ground instead. (-:

Good results with the 130's on all sorts of game including sambar, the more resistance the better they work. The only issues I had were on small light skinned animals past 300y. I got 3010fps from an 18" barrel. The 130ttsx and the 168gr eldms have worked the best for me performance wise.

Love the 130s purely based on their accuracy through my 308. Devastating effects on animals in close and good killing power at long distances. Running around the 2950fps for me, yet to push them onto an animal beyond 200 but I tell you at 40m it’s leaving huge holes as they exit.
