@csmiffy I found trusty old 130gn hornady Sp were great for bush hunting, tried 140accubounds (2800fps) but they tended to pencil thru at close ranges, need to be driven faster, the 130gn ones would be better if driven hard. I now use 145gn ELD-X.

If you would like some samples (12-15) to try before buying a full box, I have here, 130gn Hornady, 140 Accubonds, 130gn Nosler B/tips and Sierra 140gn, I’ll trade for a 500ml bottle of either Panhead Pilsner or their Pale ale.

bro slip a 130gr woodleigh in it an crank them up. 30m t0 whatever- penetrate an expand no blow up at high velocity-

general rule of thumb with factory ammo an 270s.

150gr for bush stalking and 130gr for stretching it to standard average long shots -400 say

RE SST and interlock- different kettles of fish- id go interlock over sst in 270/130gr myself....
i used hornady whitetail factory 140gr in NZ.... perfect

in fact the 130gr ppsn from woodleigh wuld be perfect bull tahr an red stag medicines

How do the Woodleighs compare side by side with Accubonds ?

In my experiences on the sambar mate in a few different Cals... they are on Par in my mind although not AS flighty (bc) but certainly for bush stalking an out to 400m it wont matter much-

id say the Woodleigh acts a little "softer" on expansion and every one ive seen has folded out the same as the advert whereas the Accubond was more often going through them under 100m (bit harder) but once out 150 or so + the accubonds would hang in the fur- in saying this many woodleigh in a heavy for cal will punch through + expand.

    i use lighter stuff, say a 150 in .308/06 140 in 7-08, 130 in .270 etc.

they reall should be a Top class NZ projectile for most bush hunters- understandable to the long sleek ELDx an GC models are favoured but thats part an parcel with the image too---

with woodleighs ya largely end up with the projectile in the fur with good amount of trauma.
