Thread: 130gr 6.5mm swift scirroco

Looking at these as a potential hunting pill for 6.5/06. Curious about how people have found them to expand on game. Would also be interested to hear about preferred powders for anybody loading this pill in 6.5/06. Leaning towards 2217 at this point.
The bc is very high for these. Wondering if its a bit too optimistic.... any info around this would also be appreciated

Was talking to Jansen tonight about various things (including Tahr ) and he was thinking about trying these as well in his 6.5 284... Maybe you should compare notes...

I'm interested as well in the terminal performance of the 130 Sirrocco.

I have done load development with them a couple of times but couldn't get them as good as I would like or as good as others I tried.

Litz lists the BC as .491, a bit less than the advertised .571

I have a couple of "grunty" 6.5s to do & it is one of the projectiles I may try along with the 120 GMX, 127 LRX & 130 CEB

i shot a couple of tahr in my 6.506 with the surrocco, they were 460y from memory and bang flop lights out, N560 is the powder for 6.506

I have only shot around 30-40 animals with the 6.5 scirocco and most if them were clean shot.
The few I have body shot were at LR and were bang flops as well.
They were very accurate thru my 6.5-06 and my mates but not so in my
.260 They can be fussy on barrels.
BC was pretty close in my experience. I used the stated one on my calc and had good results.
If they shoot, use them. They kill well.
I had good results with them and N560 in my '06 as well.
