Thread: 165gr SST in 308 bushpig

Kills Tahr out to 400yds no fuss. 16" .308 BP. First choice. 2650 fps.

Its a great projectile. Not what I'm running at the moment, but use to use it in another .308 I had.

I have used both 150gr and 165gr SST, the 165gr was an improvement in terms of terminal performance. Almost always existed and when it didn't it was still on one piece, The 150gr wouldn't always do either. Although both bullets killed stuff fine.... Vast majority of my deer are shot at under 100m, but I'd say you'd be fine out at 400m.

I prefer 165gr bullets in the .308 over 150gr. Although will give the 130gr Barnes a go at some stage, but monolithics are a different beast altogether.
