    168gr amax 300 win mag

I have a few 168gr amax spare since getting rid of the 308 and thought I might try them out in the 300 win mag. Anybody had a crack with this combo and if you have what are you working with?
    Cheers

I'm of no help, but I would be keen to know also what people have found. You would think it would be a good combo

E: I just looked up the adi website, surprisingly it looks to be only around 3000 Fps. I thought it may be higher

Should work great but my 300wm only liked the heavier 180 grain amaxes

@300CALMAN, did you try the 168-grain amax? I'm currently playing with the 190-grain VLDs. Seems to be working out well so far

I'm running the 168amax in my tikka 300win mag w a DPT magnum suppressor. Mild load doing 2800 through the Chrony (broken shoulder so no recoil is good) it puts five shots in one hole at 100. Load is 60grains of imr4895. It kill exceptionally well. I've actually been using it on a few fallow recently which is hugely overkill but sure puts them down.

    Five shot group

My 300WM didn't like them much. Cant remember the load but they literally detonated in goats. One had it's lungs sprayed over a hill side and another had only flaps of skin holding on to it's jaw and ears You wont have much meat left over.
