    17 HMR case rupture.

Was at the range today and noticed a number of my spent cases were split from the neck and down the shoulder. The rifle was shooting as per normal. No sign of any other issues. Anyone come across this before?

I don't shoot much at the range so don't usually see the case after it has been fired
    Sorry about the crap photo.

Thanks guys. That's reassuring I guess.
Ammo is Hornady 17gn in my CZ. My only concern is undue erosion in the chamber.
    Do you two use Hornady?

Are the splits in the same position on each case relative to the firing pin mark?
10MRT shooters do it 60 times, in two directions and at two speeds.

Well known issue with 17hmr amo. Widely documented and known by manufacturers

Yup sure is very common on the 17hmr.
Funny you say that Maca49. My uncle had the same with his CZ - he blamed the gun saying poor quality manufacturing sent it back and bought himself a Anschultz.
