what twist have you got mate......keen to see how they go.
It's 9.5 I no I no its not what the 175 says on the box I'm not reading into twist to much they said the same thing about the amax and that's a 1000mtr pill in my RM
They shot magic well under an inch fired 100 475 620 750
Did you manage to get a Chrono to test the velocity?
Yea I worked up well above adi max to 74gns with no pressure signs and with a 3 shot group got 3058 3066 and 3070 they were fair hussing at the end and shooting tight 66 68 72 and 73 also shot well but 74 had the edge and was going alot faster 66 was down around the late 2600 and i needed a minimum of 2850 to make it worth using over the 162
I presume you are using 2217, if not what powder and length barrel do you use?
How far off the lands did you seat them? I tried the 162 eldx in the weekend but they didnt shoot as well as i would have liked.
I would say zak would be running 2225 seated just under mag fit for sako 85
@zacko 24 1/2" barrel?
Makes me want to try that, considering I have the same barrel just a different action.
74 grains of 2225 pretty compressed could here it crunching when i seated projos was hesitant but worked up and have absolutely no signs of pressure standard sako 85 finnlight I think there 24'' its 9 1/2 twist and was surprised at speed but got it out to 750 mtrs using that Muzzle velocity so the crony must have being correct as far as lenth of the lands goes im touching il give a over all lenth in a couple of hours but dont have a oal gauge so just seated until it felt nice in the rifle working the bolt with very minor lands marks on projo
That sounds very promising. Someone hereabouts was unable to get them stabilised with a 1 : 10, good news that a 1 : 9.5 will do it.
Great results Zacko that sort of answers a lot of questions regarding twist rates stabilising the heavy bullets in the 7mm mag. Now all I need to do is get some and try them in my rifle as not all rifles are the same. Thanks for the information.
