    175eldx or 180eldm

After opinions on the best performer on deer, reds and fallow out of the 175 eldx or 180 eldm in 7mm at around 3000fps.
I've had a bit of search and haven't come up with much anyone got any real world experience with either ?
    Cheers

If there is a chance you will be shooting big animals up close (under 100y) I would probably use the eldx but as long as you avoid bone up close the eldm will perform fine.
The eldx might be a bit hard on smaller fallow too but again shot placement and range can mitigate this

The 162 amax at that speed is a real killer, the eldm will be similar in construction but the extra mass would stop them blowing up too soon.

I have no experience with 7mm eldm/x but used both in 30 cal and my vote is with the eldm (assuming they behave the same between 7mm & 30 cal). 200gr eldx @ 2870 killed well at distance (im talking 450m+) but much closer than that it would often pencil straight through even putting them into solid shoulder bone on fairly big animals. Ive found the 178gr ELDM @ 3060 much more effective does just as well at distance (maybe not real far out but inside 700m) but more importantly it works alot better than the ELDX at closer distances (2-300 type thing). Even hitting shoulder bone i havent had any blow ups and its put down 6 deer in a row now without them moving more than a step. When i was using the ELDX i shot a sika spiker through both front shoulders but it didnt hit anything super solid, pencilled through and the little prick made it over 150m before expiring. However i run 143gr ELDX in my 6.5 creedmoor & havent had any issues even sub 100m shots tend to anchor them on the spot for the most part. Maybe the jacket is thinner / slightly different design in the 6.5 cal projectiles.

Unlike the 162 eldm @3000fps the 180 works well up close due to its extra weight. Great out far too.
Haven't used the 175 to be able to comment

Agree with the team on the 180 ELD-M.
I use them in my 7RM at a mild 2840.
BC is huge so they don’t need to screaming.

180eldm is a hammer. Seen them run at 3050-3100 and are phenomenal killers

The 180s from phils blazer mag was punching holes in the gongs at 200y was it? Dam that gun could shoot.
