To date I have only used 150 - 162 gn pills in my RM, for long range stuff the good ol 162 AMAX's.
Thinking about developing loads for 180gn pills with RL26 or 33. Any one got some real world experience and advice with these powders ? or could assist with QL: data ?
I believe Duleys have been running 180gn ELDMs under a big load of RL33 with some success. Wanting to guage where to start a ladder and how up to go.
All the usual disclaimers about starting low and working up etc etc etc
With 26 we hit pressure at 71 with 162s so I imagen 65 could be a start 68 or 69 was the go to load for me in blaser mag with 180s and 26
yeah, I run RL26 with 180 VLDs in my BM. It goes gooooood. In this case I'm really fishing for info on the RL33 in rem mag with 180's.

I think Greg uses the berger hybrid 180s not the eld.m.
I had a small play with the 180 eld m in my tikka an 2225, was quite surprised with the speeds achieved, 3.370 oal, 24"barrel braked
70- 2810fps
71- 2873
72- 2886
72.5 - 2950
73- 2970, still not pressure, an nice tidy group.
Not the exact combo, but I use 2217 with 175 ELD-X in my A7 rem mag, 69.5 grains for 2950 fps from a 24 inch barrel, federal brass, cci 250 primers overall length was somewhere around 3.450 inches.
Haven’t run RL33, but getting 2840 with 67 grains of RL26 and 180 ELD-M from a 25” barrel.

ok, I managed to track down the original thread about RL33 & 180gn pills 7mmRM's for ~3000fps.
My memory was telling me it was up around 80gns and that's confirmed in this old thread
BUT ... Note the caution about only suitable for long throats & only established safe in certain actions, so all the usual good stuff about work up slowly.
I imagine it must be close to a compressed load.

I run 180 Vld hunting on my 20 inches Sako 85 7mm rem mag with IMR 8133 powder.
Work up to 74gn 8133 and 60 tho jump, 2900fts no pressure sign, three shots quarter to half inch at 100m.
