    180grs Norna Bondstrike for Tahr?

Has anyone tested the Norma Bondstrike for Tahr at longer distances?
Anyone found a chart over typical expansion on longer distances?
At What velocities does it function well?

    No

But I have shot a couple of Reindyr bucks with them. Should work OK but they are pretty hard. What are you going to be shooting them from?

I've shot Fallow, Sika and Reds with the 143 6.5 Bondstrike @2950 out of my Saum.
Out to 350m expansion has been the high side of acceptable, the farthest I've used them is 680m and it expanded fine - passed through a 85kg red shot through the ribs and out through the opposite shoulder.
    I'm sold on them.

Planning on loading them in a .30-06 2700fps at muzzle. Probably in the neighbourhood of 2200 at 450m? That would be my Max anyway.
    Main game will be Tahr.

A Nosler accubond or a lighter (150 maybe)copper monolithic like a hammer or Barnes would be a great choice too.

If thats what you got then use them. But I would choose something a bit softer, why do you think you will be shooting to 450 meters? Do you expect to find the animal after its tumbled out of sight and you have to detour 2km around a face in order to find roughly where you think you last saw it,kind of?

Honestly I would sight it in with Norma Oryx and just buy some when you are in NZ.

They are not armour plated animals.a heck of a lot cheaper projectiles will work just as good if not better. I haven't shot a huge amount of them but certainly didn't find then hard to kill/ drop on the spot.

I shot a fallow at just under 200m with factory 6.5prc bondstrike and it seemed a little bit explody, I guess you could call it low rear quarter shot, in belly just behind ribs toward sternum, all I found was copper base lodged in sternum, didn't hit any bone on way through.

As Ross said, the 143gn ones work great so I’d say the 180gn would be fine on tahr
Shut up, get out & start pushing!
