Smile 185 gr berger , 300 win mag load .

    Hi,
going to load the berger 185 VLD hunters for my 300 win mag . Because i have a hundred of em .

    Rifle A7 , 24inch barrell . shots real well with 180 Bondstrike factory ammo 3050 ft/sec

Looking for a velocity range they work best at .
I understand the projectile does better for accuraccy performance , with some bullet jump as well . Any commentary on that subject ?

For those wanting to talk about loads . I have re 22 , adi 2209 , H1000 , a range of primers as well . So you dont need to disclose your recipes . I can work upto to a velocity with any powder, but maybe tell me which powder works great . Or just tell me anyway , cause those pills cost $246 / hundred and i dont want to waste them .

Why ? I use the rifle for shooting at spot , thats always well out there . could be 500 - 600 yards sometimes , and the rifle shoots fine, but ammo is $154 / box
    cheers
    les

My Christensen arms loved the 185 grain vld hunting projectiles with H1000 had a 24 inch barrel 1 in 10 twist barrel with brake. think from memory they did 3100 fps put fist sized holes in wallabies at 800 yards lol dropped fallow and red skins with ease
Jump out of mine was 0.010thou
This is from berger themselves when I emailed them
"We suggest that if you are doing any bullet seating depth testing that you start with the bullet TOUCHING THE LANDS. Then work BACK INTO THE CARTRIDGE CASE in .005 or .010 increments using the starting powder charge listed for the bullet/ powder/ cartridge combination you are loading"
They are really good to correspond with and reply pretty promptly.
On side note I have 189 of them left and sold my win mag if you're after some more 300 for the lot plus postage and they can be yours.
