I'd actually trust Speer over Hornady in this instance. Particularly with the software also suggesting that it's over-pressure. Hornady aren't always super conservative.

An alternative is the Sierra 195gr TMK. Accurate in both my 308 & 300 Norma. Gunworks normally stock these....& sample packs too I think![]()
Thanks guys. I’m going to try the 200eldx. Theres actually published data with this projectile and hornady uses it in their precision hunter line so me thinks it’s worth a solid crack!
Hey pommy why would I make this shit up, I've used load for about 7or 8 years and only trying help Nic. You keep playing with your ballistic apps
Hi Nic, away tomorrow morning till Monday PM your number and I'll give you a call when back with COAL etc.
Blackmac, I'm not accusing you of making anything up. I've shared a couple of data points that suggest you've been leaning on it harder than you perhaps realise. McNotty has shared some data points that suggest it's alright... cool... so the water is muddy in this instance.
That Hornady data shared also suggests your recipe is right at or slightly above max. You're getting top velocities with a slightly shorter barrel and 0.8gr less powder.

I’m a little confused. He is using nearly a whole grain under the Hornady book maximum and compared to Alliant powders reloading data, Hornady are very conservative.
Plus 1 for 195 tmk, use these in my 300 win mag, consistently sub moa at the range and great on sika at distance.
My comments based off the psi from the grt clip in their looking at the hornady data it would suggest he’s spot on at right around max velocity for a 24” barrel, powder charge is irrelevant both of my rifles can’t reach book max charge weights but they can reach book max velocity’s
thanks for everyone’s input. I’ve ditched the rl17 for 2213sc and it’s a day and night difference. Groups have shrunk right down and es is sitting at 10 over 5 rounds. That’ll do!test it at 500 to ensure it’s holding true and we’re good to go. Wish I switched over at the start haha
ADI way more cost efficient as well happy days
