now gone 1:8 twist with the 75gr amax but can't remember the data for that and not fire that non AI

    22-204 53 Vmax, 3700-3750fps, 31 grains of powder, 22" barrel

The 53 Vmax needs at least 1-12 twist, it is qiute long, 0.290 BC apparently

We never tried the slow twist AI with lapua brass, wasn't out then... but then those loads we used weren't full Rah as they grouped better back a bit, but how many firings have you had a 3800 and did you measure the case streach length wise? Thats why we went AI initialy as the brass needed triming to often

    How long was the barrel?

[QUOTE=Spanners;37946]So how much is there in the AI? 200fps for the same preasure for me

I see Leathels velocity in AI is same as Tussocks std? I will have to look up the tagets but our top speed was around 39 something but groups opened up QUOTE]

I dont know if 22-250 Lapua brass would have handled more than the Rem brass I had but I suspect if its like my 243AI it looks like it does until about the 4th firing then I got primer blows with the 22-250AI it was a mates so didn't load too hot

I have a 1:14 barrel 22-250AI that will come of soon that has done about 500 rounds.... as that action is for my next build...and have formed brass from that barrel

I'm doing 3650 comfortably with a 52gr of Bryns with 2206H and very good accuracy in a standard, unsure if I'd like to push for 3800.
Have no experience with the AI

+1 The high BC really sorts the bunnies out at distance in the wind

It only needs to be a very light wind with the light pills once you get beyond 3-400 to push the pills about badly, much to the bunnies relief.

The 22-250 would really come alive with a 1-8 twist & 75 Amaxs

Throw in some Lapua brass, good powder selection & it would be out standing

I think the best thing you can do with a 22-250 is ream it out to 22-243 this is what i plain on doing one day with a savage 1-9 twist ..... one day

+1 Reamed out a couple of 22-250s in the past, unfortunitely they were 1-14, little pills very fast but pretty hopeless past 400-500 in normal conditions.
