Hey lads and ladies,
I have a 15" model 7 7mm08 running a 140bt at 2550fps over 41gns 2206h.
Question is does anyone know if 2208 would give anymore speed? (I know speed isnt everything)
And has anyone used a accubond at these speeds ?

I run Cfe223 in my 15 inch 708 pushing 140 nbt at 2720 with good accuracy.
@GWH do.you know what the ADI equivilant is ?
I have loaded 140 gr Accubonds for my nephew in his 7mm/08 and while they did kill deer they weren't the ideal. I think you need plenty of speed with these and he was finding that once the range extended thy wouldn't open up the same. From memory we had them starting out close on 2700 fps. at the lower speeds I think the ELD-X or Sierra game king would open up better at slower speeds.
I think 2550 fps would be to slow.
2206h is faster than 2208 so no, 2208 will not give faster speeds.
Warm Barrels!
If you like I could run some numbers through Quickload and compare a few powders for you.
Ill just need the average water capacity in grains of a few fired cases and your O.A.L of the loaded round.
to find the water capacity of a case weigh it then fill it with water to the top weigh it again and take the weight of the empty case from the fill one, it should be somewhere form 55Gr to 58Gr depending on the type of case.
8208 works great in .308 for speed from a short barrel. Might be worth a shot
Quickload has them both at about the same, with a slight negligible gain by going 2208 at max loads. like 15-20 fps.
CFE 223 is the go, I got 2750 at below max out of an 18 inch
According to the ADI website ,look in the pistol section , the diference is minimal . But as you go Light to Heavy projectiles it goes Fast powder to Slower powder .
