Thread: 223 factory ammo

I have purchased a tikka t3x 223 and wanting to find a factory ammo that gives consistency and accuracy. What's people's go to, for off the shelf ammo.

Depends on twist rate

It's usually stamped on the barrel right next to the calibre.

I found 62gr hornady whitetail works well in my Tikka 1.8 twist

I have a Weatherby vanguard that likes Winchester 55g super x.

Fiocchi 55gr SP shoots well under MOA in all our team's 223s - Zastava, Tikka, Howa, Savage. Dam good factory load.

Sweet I just bought 600 rounds for $350.

Our local gunshop recommended the Fiocchi stuff to me, but it didnt shoot in my Rem Model 7. So I have most of a 50 for anyone who'd like to try it

I've been using the Buffalo 55gr with the Sierra Gameking (not the one with the blitzking). It's accurate and great on fallow. Hard to get at the moment though

its a .223 do not over think it..... I may have been nice to a little old lady in previous life.....I havent found an ammunition my 1;12 zastava wont put inside an inch... what more does a fella need ???

All these guys proud of being under an inch You must only shoot on really cold days @Micky Duck.

I may well have been very good to not so old ladies too!!!!! wonder if that counts.....
and its cold outside,definately more wrinkles than inches here mate....

If it won't shoot the Sako 50 or 55 grain Gamehead Softpoint, it's time to sell the rifle.

Sako .222 and .223 has a very solid reputation for being spot on, they produce their own bullets for this loading IIRC.
