But yes we can get tied up looking for jam length or x amount of jump length and then realize they won't fit in the mag,for those of us who use magazines.
It's more of a nice to know for me.

you could always single feed a long jobbie and have mag full of your slightly shorter slightly lighter jobbies as long as they pattern close together.....

Thats a good idea MD, yes they all shoot around the same point of impact.

its not origonal...heck even the "Duleys" were doing it some time back..... they even had rounds so long they needed to remove the bolt out of action to take the round out again if didnt end up firing it!!!!!

I'll get the 73gr ELDM's grouping better and then do it. I have a longer mag to try once I get the load sorted but that won't be until after lambing.

I loaded up 10 of my half inch 62gr load tonight so they are going to get a crack at a deer on Thursday evening if one pops out.
