    It doesn't matter. You really do need to place a .223 projectile in the proper place regardless . If you start from that premise vmax are fine on deer (as many know). From there on out the error of margin increases through to 80 grn ELDM and the 77 grn Tipped Sierra.

    I would be very happy plonking an old 55 grn BT into a deers lungs. 52 grn BT from the same era were just fine.

    In a 223 at a bit slower speed they may hold together a bit better and penetrate more, my 22 250 has them going at 3600 fps and I don't have any issues with them.
