    .224 65gr GameKing 1395

Does anyone have experience with this pill? Will be shooting it out of 1:9 17.5" CZ. Only use will be fallow or Sika at bush hunting ranges. Looking for a reliable Soft Point that would perform similar to the review I have seen of the Winchester PP 64gr but in roll my own.

    Edit: @dogmatix

Yep, will be good. Found them to be very tolerant for a jump to rifling as well.
IMO 60gn Partitions would be my first choice for deer, but double the price of the GKs.
Have had a few GKs punch right through when I missed bone, but that was around 150m range.

Used the 55g GameKing SBT on Fallow in my .22-250, generally head shots, quite effective...

Will be running a sample load of 69g TMK, check out accuracy, range and effectiveness...

@dogmatix Cheers mate, I am tossing up between the 60gn vmax and these. Looked at the partition and tsx but at over a dollar a shot its a no go. Shots will be chest cavity or neck.

The 55gr hollow point gamekings exceeded my expectations on wallabies and fallow at ranges out to 230 metres earlier this year. Used to use 60 gr hornady but these seem to be a harder bullet and less likely to skin pop. May try the 65 gr ones when I run out. Would liked to get the Winchester 64s but they don't do them as components.

Yes they do. I get them from Wilhelms in ChCh. They shoot pretty well.

Does anyone know where I can get the Sierra 69grn plastic tip?

I had pretty poor results in a 1:8 .223 close range fallow pencil straight through.

Used the Winchester 64 gr PP .223 factory load for several goat culling contracts, bought the ammo by the case.Shot it through a Mini 14 out to 150 yd. Have also used it in various bolt actions to 200 yd.
In my opinion a great choice for medium game.Good penetration with textbook mushrooming,my only complaint is the exposed softpoint can get beaten-up on semi-auto feed ramps.
