Pic won't load, but superperformance start at 39.7 upto 44.4grns
Same for me re photo expected velocity:
39.7=2700fps
41.3=2800fps
42.8=2900fps
44.4=3000fps
Awesome thanks guys

This is from the 1980 3rd Ed
Won’t let me add a picture on here. But if you still need it. Message me your number or email and I can send you a picture.
Just tried loading the 95 gr Noslar BT with Superformance in the 243 . First load was at 43.5 grs and averaged 2908 fps , COAL 67.5mm and it shot into a 26 mm group ( 3 shot) .
Yesterday I tried same bullet with 44.2 grs of Superformance, they averaged 2962 fps COAL 67.5mm and shot into a 54 mm group (3 shots)
Doesn't seem to like the higher speeds, but my rifle is a bit fussy.
I'm about to try 100 grn BTSP Interlock with superprofrmance tomorrow night.

Be interesting to see your results.

ive been loading 87gr sp i have them jumping 50 thou which the howa seams to like
@mucko is that the old Hornady 87gr sp that used to be one of the go-to's for the 243 for deer?
They only reference that weight now as a varmint bullet.
Ladder test last week Tikka T3 with Hodgdon superprofrmance and Hornady 100grn BTSP.
Had a node at 33.8 to 44.2 so loaded 5 of each and then settled on 44 for 1/2 MOA 3 shot group and 2929fps from a 20" barrel.

So it hasnt changed as such, they just dont reckon it's any good for deer then?
The Hornady 87gn hp was killing deer dead back in the eighties, and in my Hornady load manual of that decade it was listed as a medium game pill, It is still killing deer now, but now Hornady list it as a varmint pill only - I'll bet it's down to too many yanks not understanding animal anatomy and the pill they are using, and then blaming the pill and the manufacturers designation for it.
Have just loaded up a bunch of the 87hp and 87 Sierra sp and I plan on killing a freezer full of deer with either one! and a bunch of hoppers with the sp.
there was a 87grn hornady sp that was doing great things on sika back then too...think it was Graham Onlow??? who did article on it in rod n rifle....
always thought a barnes mono of somewhere around 70grns would be just about perfect EBRG fodder if the boffins at Barnes made the thing fragile enough to open up properly....Ive done enough looking and seen enough testing done to believe not all monos are produced equal...there can be huge difference between seemingly similar projectiles...of the 10 or so .277 ones on market there are less than 4 that work ideally.
Graeme Omlo, from memory
pretty close for an old memory dug from my brain thats not flash on good day LOL.
The 87gr on tm were 2440 I am sure
Well be nice to know.
If I dont find the targex any good I might try to get some of these.
Still have a half dozen reloads from years ago that had these.
Tried some more loads in my 243 yesterday and got pleasing results. A week or so back I tried a load of 40 grs of AR 2209 with the 95 gr Noslar BT, accuracy was good at 17 mm @ 100yards but was a bit slow at 2896 fps. Yesterday I tried 41grs of 2209 with the same bullet and got a two fold increase, faster at 2940 fps and a 14 mm three shot group.Attachment 150205
I now have two good loads using the 95 gr bullet, one the SST the other the BT, velocities are about the same as are the group sizes. the Noslar shots at 23/4 inches high at 100yds the SST 1.5 inches high so both usable without altering my sights.
