    .243 powder

What are y'all using? I want to run 105gr bullets. I have used 2217 and RE 22 with 105gr A max with ok results. But I will be chopping my barrel back to 20" and curious to see what sort of speed and accuracy you get with you combinations. Probably gonna roll 4350/2209 or Hybrid V from the research I've done.

Any temp sensitivity issues with 17? I was tempted to go with it but read that it varies a lot with temperature change.

There probably is but I developed the load mid summer, figuring the worst it would do in winter is slow down a bit. The goats fall down so I don't complain.

The Targex work very nicely, good enough that I bought 600 odd projectiles the other year to work through.
A fair number of people here use them or have done in the past. He does a 105gn version too.
Never owned a 223 so can't comment there.

I was using 2213sc to push 95gr sst out a 20" barrel around 3040fps. have decided to go to 2209 as i can use less powder for same speed and not have a 3" muzzle flash.

    I was using 2208 37gr from memory behind a 95gr targex for 3180?
2208 being a bit fast for this weight could be the way to go in a short barrel?

I tried 2208 with 105 A max when I first got it, as that's what I had on hand, it didn't like it though.

What are the BC's on the Targex bullets? I see the Berger 105's aren't too expensive (for Bergers).

    95Gn .450
    105gn .460
I forgot to say, I ended up trying the R17 when I was testing the GSCustom projectiles out. Martin Bester run the barrel length and load info through his ballistics program and it worked out that 47gn of R17 would burn in the barrel.
I use 41.5gn for the 95gn and magnum primers.

    I use N550 for 3080fps. 95 Targex. 20” barrel. Great accuracy.

Bryn makes 2 sorts of 105 grn in 243. One is designed to stabilize in 1:10, the other won’t. Check with him.

Targex have Berger jackets, and they perform very much like the Berger VLD hunting. I’ve used them in .243 on many deer and Tahr and am very impressed. Expect some blood shock and meat damage if you shoulder shoot.

The 69 grn works well in my .223 too, and I’ve shot deer out to 290 yards with them.

Cool. I'm running a 1-8 twist so have some leeway. How much are the Targex per 100? Would be cool to run a Kiwi product. The Hornady's are 50 bucks per hundred which is pretty awesome.
