    Yeah @ZQLewis, not to shabby for a 47 yr old rifle I paid $400 for including it's original Pecar scope and rings/bases.

    70 or 95gr target should do the trick

    Yeah the 87gn sgk is bloody good on fallow
    I like the 95gn targex too

    Speer and/or sierra 100g BTSP and 37g of w760 which is recommended starting charge works well. Plus I loaded some nosler 55g hollow points powered by 15g of trailboss and puts decent holes through turkeys and destroys rabbits. don't know what velocities I'm getting but they all hit hard.

    April 1976 on track leading down to the Maropea from Wakelings my mate shot a very fat 8pt stag on the track. We gutted it and I carried it whole to the Maropea Forks Hut to catch up with the rest of the team who were walking in via Top Maropea from Waipawa. Ron was using a Brno 243 601 with 87 gr Hornady. Fed us for the roar.
