Will be doing some loading for a mate. Does anyone have a good load using Sierra 117gr SBT? Any other bullet suggestions?

51grs 2209 behind a hornady 100gr soft point.
It works well for a mate that is way to fussy to change.

I use that bullet in my 257 Roberts. I wouldn't push it above the 2900fps. I have had it up to 2950fps and it became a little bit messy on goats. Still killed will, just bloody messy.

He mostly hunts Fallow and Reds, occasionally goats too but not often. I would think the 25-06 would push the 117gr over 3k? the 120gr HPBT is another option but the BC is less than the 117gr SBT which surprised me.

I shoot 117 sierra gamekings in my tikka m65 it likes 52gr Ar2213sc

Also just got some 75gr vmax's to try out. Not planing on using these on any deer sized game tho rabbits and birds

The vmaxs are awsome up to fallow sized game. With a 250 yards zero will be point and shoot out to 350ish hold top of th spine at 400.
