.257 mate had a 223wssm, it was a sack of case splitting arsepickles
That's fairly serious stuff there @Gibo, not often one comes across a reporting of 'case splitting arsepickles' might be something to give a big swerve and fend to and keep on trucking...

If there's one thing i love about this site @Timmay, that is the SOH's that abound here... I have looked, but that doesn't give hands on feedback...
Met a older bloke yesterday selling his prised Winchester 25WSSM, beautiful rifle, trigger was superb..wasn't for me as not a Ruger But have a .308 here that got me thinking about building something a bit different...lol Must be bored...

Ive got a 223 WSSM an love it, don't load maxi loads and im getting at least 5 reloads out of cases, its a perfect round for Wallabies, long range rabbits, and ive even taken a few good sized pigs with it. Not heard of many people splitting cases, perhaps his brass was not good quality?
Apparently win wssm brass has really thick necks and ideally has to be annealed frequently. I like the idea of a 6.5 wssm but it would be a hassle to run -case is only 1.67 inches long creedmore is 1.92 case capacities are pretty much the same and significantly more than 6.5x47. Short and fat is where it's at
