    260 projectile

I'm getting a new barrel on my 260 and am looking for some thoughts on projectiles. It's mostly for medium to long range paper, with some varminting and maybe the occasional goat. Was shooting 130 gr Norma golden targets. I just want to buy some bulk projectiles work up a load and stick to it.

    Any suggestions?

Would prefer something that was readily available with good BC.

Could try Hornady ELD-X 143 gr .625 BC or the ELD -M 140 gr .620 BC should work well for what you want to shoot. They seem to be available, see them on Trade Me and Reloaders Supplies have them now.

What twist is going to be your barrel? 1 in 8.5" don't always work well with the 140's. 1 in 8 does

Hornady 123 amax have been treating me very well for 5 years.
    5 into a dime at 100.

    40.5gr varget loaded to 2.820".

They take a push at 920y in the wind so if u can load heavier bullets give those a go first.

Was looking at something heavier than the 123, although when I thought I was going to be doing more varminting than anything else I bought some. I just never reload a secondary projectile for any of my guns. Also, and this is probably a stupid reason, I already load Hornady v-max on my other gun so I was looking for something else to try.

There's 2 other 260 shooters I shoot with who use 139 gr scenars and they are very happy with them.
I've seen some impressive groups at 100 and at the 920y.
One is a tikka t3 sporter at 2775fps and also is the long range match winner this year.

    139 gr scenars at 100

I'm running the 143 eldx. Running at 2749 avg. Have worked well up close 20m on goats. Have also shot goats out to 350m so far with good results, plan to push it further since buying a chrony and the shooter app.

You mean eld - m (match)? The x are the hunting version, thicker jacket and interlock ring

The game king has a huge hollow point at the front doesn't it? I'd mostly be shooting paper and rabbits. Anything 6.5 mm would destroy them.
I was quite interested in the Sierra tipped match king (TMK) but last time I looked they were quite pricey.
