Thread: .260 remington with n560 and 140 SST

Can't seem to find a combination anywhere, does anyone have any start/thru to hot loads. T3 action Shilen barrel.

equivelant to 2209 would start with that and work up, i use 40.8gr of n550 not quite a compressed load

Is it equiv in speed etc??

My ADI book shows equivalent to Imr 4831 slightly faster than H4831 and 2213sc so I'll start with 41 and work up.

140 amax i get 2510fps ave not the fastest load but its bloody accurate

Its 139 Scenar but my 260 uses the same load with 139,140 SST, Amax & 144 FMJ

The speeds are SLLOOOWWWW ???

If you have access to some 2217 try that & a mag primer, data on the ADI site

BM2 job done. I don't run that heavy a bullet but it works shithot with 120's

Shit those 120 speeds are slow! With a full barrel on I got 3000 without any real trouble using the BM2, warm but not smoking.

Thanks fella's I tried some Nosler 120's and with 38.5 of 2208 shot an itty bitty group so will just run with that projectile, I load 47 of n560 in my 6.5x55 with the 140 sst's so will stay with that as my Tahr rifle.

Will try the 2217 in the 6.5x55 if I can find half tin somewhere.
