260 short barrel powders
Pretty sure I posted something along these lines when i had it done early last year
But cant find it
I had my 260 shortened to 18 inches and suppressed
Have been going through all my old ammunition that’s gone so now need to develop a new load for it
So ive got new brass (lapua)
Only interested in 120-130
What powder do you guys suggest

Yeah got some of that to try mate data certainly looks good
Ive herd good things about superformance but mostly guys running 140’s anyone tryed with lighter bullets?

I trialed 2208 and 2209 with 120's and 140's respectively. Ended up running just 2209, gave good accuracy and no hassle over powder swaps.
With 120's its a long drop tube for sure to get it all in, but they are seated for mag clearance. The 140's are long and the powder rattles around fine.
I have pretty much got same POI with the two different loads too. This is from a 18 1/2 inch barrel.
DONT try this without working up your own, but I ended up with 45.5 grns for the 120's and 42.5 for the 140's this was for Amaxes
According to Strelok with distance verified loads the speeds are 2900 for the 120's and 2800 for the 140's So not chronied it may not mean much but its a bit of info for you.

H414 goes good in my 20" 260 with 120's. It gave good speed with 130gr too but my barrel won't stabilise anything heavier than 123gr.

Im using BM2 in my 6.5TCU with 123 Laupuas to good effect Approx 2590fps last time I chronied and after I back the load off more than a tad as brass was only lasting 2 firings

I'm running a 19 inch, suppressed Model 7. Using VV N160 and 140gn Bergers. This is a 260 30 degree improved. getting 2755fps.
