Instead of soap, you can melt some candles in a pot and had some olive oil to it. Raise the temp till it become pretty hot and then let it cool down. The texture of the candle wax become less brittle and more " buttery " . You can also use the red wax of baby bell cheese, but they are to expensive here compared to Europe .
