    .270 140 game kings exploding

    Hey everyone.
Running 140gr Sierra game kings currently in my 270 at 2700fps.
Have shot 4 deer so far with these projectiles.... and every one has completely exploded when hitting shoulder or rib, and that's just on sika hinds or yearlings.
Anyone got any other advice on a good, soft easy expanding projectile to try that will hold together slightly better?
Going to try eldx in the next load.

    2700 isn't that fast for a 140 in the 270 either?
I liked the 140ABs driven at 3000 in my 270 but never shot it past about 350 yards. The 140 BTs may be worth a crack if you want something a bit softer.

Cheers. 99% of my shooting is less than 50m so don't need to run anything super fast

Maybe go up in weight to a 150gn soft point? Heaps of choices out there.

65gr GMK in your 223. Nothing but dead deer all day long.

That sounds very odd for a game king? Never used them myself but have only ever heard great things

if it comes in a black or yellow box it will be soft.....SPEER
why are you using sleak long range projectiles if you are a bush hobbit??? 150 grn partitions are awesome....sika arent hard to kill,130grn ballistic tips work in poohseventy on sika, and lots of other stuff, not ideal for big stags.
my bush load is old school 170grn speer round nose...when I finnally run out of them the old girl will get fed another round nose of some sort...plenty of options for longer range,Im running plain jane 140grn hornady sp and 2 deer from 2 shots both between 300-350 yards leads me to think they plenty good enough. both big red hinds shot through one shoulder into chest.

Yup had a great run with the eldx in win and wsm 270 they are very versatile and kill deer well, I have shot deer from 140yards out to 409 yards they have all died

Strangely enough I got some projectiles for my long awaited 270 project (that keeps getting put back) from @Dama dama.
Just dug out the packet. 150gr Hornady spire point if they match the box. He said they were blowing up like they'd gone soft-either lost or almost lost some animals because of it. Didn't trust them anymore except for practice.

I was thinking of trying some of these myself. How bigger sample are we talking about here @dannyb?
