    270 loads

    Hi Guys
My son has just brought a 270 and I will do some reloading for him.
I was wondering what load builds people were using, not long range shooting and for deer and pigs.
Just interested in what load date and projectile weight and powder everyone is using.
    Thanks in advance
    Cheers

Mate is in the same boat. Has access to superperformance, h4831 and imr4350 plus 150ssts and 150nbts. Anyone used something from these as a combo?

60 grns BARELY fits inside a case and is a rather warm load...... from top of my head you drop 2 grns of powder for every 10grns of projectile its uncanny how straight the line is between different loads....I use 4831/2213 for everything .270 from 110-170grns it just works.

Yep 57grs of Superformance with the 145 gr ELDX, accurate and good on deer. SF is temperature sensitive so caution is needed if loading in winter then using the same loads in summer might cause pressure problems, i would suggest 55 grs and work up from there. My load does over 3000 fps so it's up there. Loads I have tried with 2213 SC with 150 gr Partitions would onl get 2800 fps.

150gr berger goes very well in my experience. 2213sc or 2217 will be your friend. Mines an old parker hale so mag length is a bit rubbish but it isnt phased by that

140gr or 150gr. The 150 SST is a great bullet but there are no real bads ones in that weight range.

Go 140 AB. At least half the deer will stand and sway after being hit then plonk over, but you will never loose one like happens with cheap non bonded projectiles
