    270 wsm

    Mate just scored a 270 wsm thinking 130-140 gr projectile have lots of 2209 powder and large rifle primers anyone using this combo? Cheers

    Interesting. How many animals did you shoot with the 145 eldx? I have heard mixed reports about their performance.

    Couldn't say exactly but plenty from 4 yards to about 420yards all died within 10m of being hit, most bang flops, no complaints from me about performance.
    This was a mix of Fallow and reds.

    I've shot alot of the 145gr from my 270wsm. Everything falls over dead. However, when recovering the projectiles, the cup and core are normally separated. The lead core is in very small parts, in a large wound channel.

    I'm not a fan of have the cup and core separating, but the result in every case I've had is that the deer or tahr is in a heap just below the point the it was standing.

    I use re 19 and 140 grain tipped gameking. Excellent results.

    Use 2209 with 150gr sst goes ok

    Use 2209 with 130 Barnes and 2213sc with 145 Hornady, does all I need.

    Each to their own. I’ve used the 145 grain eldx and I didn’t like them at all, especially close up. Poor weight retention in general, though to some people that’s not a bad thing.

    Their very inconsistent my issues were penciling up close
