Always used ADI2225 and 145gn eldx.....deadly combo
Or the 140g Nosler BT and 2217
Good harvester of reds and heavy stags
We a trialing barnes 129lrx and superformance at the moment
I use re 19 and 140 grain tipped gameking. Excellent results.
Use 2209 with 150gr sst goes ok
Use 2209 with 130 Barnes and 2213sc with 145 Hornady, does all I need.

Each to their own. I’ve used the 145 grain eldx and I didn’t like them at all, especially close up. Poor weight retention in general, though to some people that’s not a bad thing.
Tahr uses one?
So to summarise, it seems the ideal load is anything you have at hand/fancy
The 145gr eldx work extremely well up close or out long. Projectiles penciling at close range doesnt seem feasible, especially when they're traveling at near muzzle velocity speed, the physics just don't add up.
I've shot over 200 deer with them no issues, hands down the best projectile I've used.
To be fair any of the projectiles mentioned on the thread will work, if that's what's on hand, just some perform a bit better than others.

My loads. All work. 22” barrel.
I've been using 140 SST in the 270WSM at about 3100fps. It's pretty devistating.

Couple loads I was given if anyone following both with large rifle primers

Reading this makes me want one!
There's one being given away in the buy sell now, fkn steal at 850,
REM action, fill ya boots man.
They are great. Very easy to get a good load for. Inherently accurate (must be the case design). All the grunt you would ever need. Just personally I would have one before a 7mm rem mag (big bitch of a thing with a silly rim thing on the case). Or the 7mmsaum (they are all home made). Even with the "limitation" of 150 grn max bullet weight. And they aren't obnoxious - easy to shoot.
What length barrels are you guys running?
I've shot alot of the 145gr from my 270wsm. Everything falls over dead. However, when recovering the projectiles, the cup and core are normally separated. The lead core is in very small parts, in a large wound channel.
I'm not a fan of have the cup and core separating, but the result in every case I've had is that the deer or tahr is in a heap just below the point the it was standing.
My 270wsm is 18inches. Works really well haven’t chronographed it but on drop seems to be doing about 2900-2950 with a 140 grain tgk. Fitted with a dpt magnum suppressor it’s pleasant to shoot off hand, wee bit of muzzle lift off the bipod but manageable. Probably averages around 0.7 moa. It’s a sako m85 but doesn’t get used much now, onto a new project.
I had the stealth on it when it was 24 inch but not when it was short. The Dpt works pretty good, still has a bit of a crack to it but doesn’t worry me. Don’t need ear protection when developing a load, and I hate loud noises. And yeah I could probably part with it.
