    270wsm?

My hunting mate is looking for a flat shooting hunting rifle to shoot out to 400 mtrs . He does not want to range and dial etc . Is it fair to say the 270 wsm will achieve this ? . We are thinking 150 grain bullets , at what distance will he have to start to hold over ? . The rifle will need to be suppressed , what is the minimum recommended barrel length ? . Also does he need a magnum supresser . ?
And does anyone have a complete rig up for sale ? @ANTSMAN did you have a browning you where thinking about shifting ?

Munsey, i have Browning xbolt 270wsm, magnum hre suppresor, 150g Berger VLDs @3050 ,does have a dialable scope, i have it zeroed at 100 and dial for anything past 200. im pretty sure if it was zeroed 2inch high at 100 it'd have a no hold over range of 400 at least if u wanna take it out for a burn lemme know.
130 grainers would be fair stonkin along and make 270 win look tame.

@ANTSMAN did you have a browning you where thinking about shifting ? spose everythings for sale, does he have a stainless BLR to swap?

Anything is point and shoot to 300 !
130.-150 grain would-be more like point and shoot to 400

if he doesnt want to dial i doubt he wants to reload which basically rules out 6.5wsm and 7wsm has fark all ammo available. 300wsm would have more drop and wind drift at 400m.

270wsm actually makes sense for what munsey is describing. Personally i would go 7rem mag tho as 270's are gay and the 7 rem mag will be basically the same in drop and drift at 400m then slightly sneak ahead the further out you get.

All magnums will have about the same amount of drop and drift at those ranges. But the 270wsm may have the least.... wiithout actually doing any numbers

Ah true, not reloading makes things much more complicated.

and wouldnt shorten the barrel at all and yes to magnum suppressor which means heavy and if you want the flattest out to 400m look at the 130 grainers, something like a 130accubond would be my pick for that distance as it will still be good up close
