    .280- thoughts

I might have the opportunity to purchase a .280, would like some thoughts, posted here because id like a perspective from a loading point of view also
I currently shoot a .243, and lately have been thinking of something slightly bigger and have been thinking along the lines of a 7-08

It'll do the job. Easy to get nosler .280rem brass. Chuck a 140/160 accubond,150 Swift or something in it and away you go. Expect about 2800fps or so with a 160gr depending on barrel length and powder.

280 is a great cartridge and would compliment your goat rifle (243) well.

Go hard mate, had a sako 280 was a dream, pushed the 162 along fine,
Doesn't have a gay stigma of the 708
Would be a nice step from the 243.

Nice. The 280 and Ai are mean. Plenty of options if you want to reload, seat long pills, etc.

A 24" barrel is the other factor needing a mention.

Another 280 fan here. Last three animals have been 450-500 metre kills, without too much effort. Only running 139 sst's fairly mildly.

280 is all good. A very capable case, that will push a variety of weight projectiles to very usable speeds with out drama.

And I reckon the AI version looks sexy as.

I'll end up with another one at some stage no doubt.

My only though about the 280, is that I want one. They seem like they would be a pretty versatile calibre.
