It had a bit more to give speed wise, as there are no signs of pressure at all at that charge (for my rifle obviously) however, a deer won't know the difference if its going a bit faster or not. The advice I was given, is that if a 284 is set up correctly, it would be there or thereabouts with a rem mag, not use as much powder, and have a far better barrel life expectancy. I'm pretty happy with it.
