    284win with rl26

    Has anyone run 162gr eldm's in a 20inch 284win with RL26?
Googling suggests that will be OK with 180gr but scant info to be found on 162gr. I'm wondering if its too slow burn rate and better staying with AR2209 speed powders?

If it does have potential be keen to hear people's loads.

Any real world experience or anyone with QL or GRT feeling bored?...
    3.13" coal

    Thanks!

I've run Re26 with both 162s and 180s in my 22" 284 if that helps

Very close to Saum velocity with 162's

Prob best to start a gr or two less than where I did, my barrel has quite a long throat, but my coal was very close to your 3.13"

Yes, i was impressed too, as a comparison my 7SAUM runs 3050 fps validated out past 1,000 yards, from 63gr of re26

Pretty good, all but one of those ladder test shots made one big ragged hole. I haven't done any further testing with this load as yet, but will be before F-class starts again in September, as I'm looking to have a play with the old M595 Tikka 284 in that.

This barrel has a very long throat, i can seat 180 eldms right out in the neck only and only just get close to the lands. I'm certain this long throat helps it pickup velocity, and i believe it was throated like this for that exact reason, i purchased the rifle already like this.
