    30 30

Does anyone here load for a 30 30, I've stumbled across a 94 in pretty good nick and was wondering if there is any real advantage after dies etc are bought to loading rather than just buying factory rds for it.
    cheers.

I've got handloads left over from my marlin 3030 I sold.
Sadly I don't have the data - but they were sweet to shoot.

Happy to send a shell up if pulling it apart would be useful to you

Yes live ammo.but figuring we have to be pragmatic I've smacked my hand already for the ones who want to remind me its a nono

pm me maybe if interested so we don't stir up a hornet's nest.

seriously though I'm sure the manuals would have the numbers
NOBODY IS PERFECT - but if you're from Yorkshire you're pretty close
The above was written slowly, for those of us who can't read quickly.

    Cheers for your answer SiB
Pulling apart a shell wouldn't tell me much except weight of power, certaimly not what type and i'd probably lose a gn or two

I have manuals galore,I'm not concerned about the way to do it, just if others had noticed any improvement or not.
Well, enough improvement in general accuracy or speed to bother
    Once again , thanks.

I use a 3030 Winchester trapper from time to time....it peels back the deer in bush. I just use factory amo!

It all comes down to how much you shoot and if you can find a factory load that suits your purpose , I dont bother to reload for my 94 because it shoots very well with Win 150 grns and I dont shoot targets with it .
Get as close as you can then six feet closer

I cast my own 170 gn projectiles and have loaded some with 8 - 8.5 gn of trailboss 1000-ish fps. it is more accurate than factory for me but obviously the point of impact is quite different. cost is only powder and primer

Ive just loaded up a few with ADI2205 and will be testing this weekend. 1900-ish fps

Id say there is advantages, just whether you think the effort is worth it

    Cheers,

Nice one Red. Bet those 170 grainers leave a nice hole.

Love your loading tray by the way.
