    300 blackout and titegroup?

    Evening all,
I知 about to dust off my 300 blackout howa again and work up a load for it, I値l be using 190 subx projectiles.
Looking at the powder I have on hand and a burn rate chart, titegroup looks to be a reasonable option.
I have searched all day to try find some data and have only come up with some for 150g projectiles. Has anyone here used titegroup with heavier pills? Or will this powder not work for me at all? I知 wanting the quietest report possible, should I just get some red dot as was recommended last time I posted about this subject?
Thanks in advance for any help!

Titegroup should work and it'll sure be quiet. Can't help you with starting charge though. A word of caution with it, it's a very fast pistol powder and the onset of pressure signs will happen very quickly, so work up in only very small increments. It's also very dense meaning it will be possible to double, triple, maybe quadruple charge the case by mistake and cause some serious damage to gun and even shooter.

Red Dot is a more sensible choice because it's very bulky. It's potent enough that you could still get into trouble, but a double charge would be immediately obvious. It's fast powder too. You'd probably need a pro grade decibel meter to tell the difference.

Thanks Pommy, I have followed your advise and picked up some red dot today. Will look for a suitable (safe) starting point tonight and start developing a load.

You'll be happy. Suspect you'll end up between 7.5 and 8.5gr depending on your barrel length and particulars: brass capacity, primer, seating depth.
