My 300 win mag was 1 in 11" with a chamber that was cut by the same reamer used for the accuracy international rifles.it had no issues stabilising up to 210 gr Sierra match King bullets.
But the 178 gr amax were shooting better than the sierras in that particular barrel. So I stuck with theses. Sacrificing a bit of bc for accuracy does not bother me.

Gillie have a look at the Savage 110BA in 300 WinMag. They are a great rifle. Not exactly a hunting rifle but if you are wanting to shoot gongs it is a tack driver and the weight of the beast won't matter. The design of the muzzle brake is so effective that it feels like a .243 behind the butt. The noise is obnoxious but nothing that muffs can't handle.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

If you want a plastic fantastic tikka or a kimber with their horrible stock design - then go ahead and get one. But if you want a elegant, beautifully made, practical, reliable, accurate rifle out of the box with a great, user adjustable trigger and a flush fitting, drop out, double stack mag that you can also feed through the action in a rifle that will hold it value - then get a sako cause you can garun-fu#kin-tee it will do all this, make you look cool, cook you dinner, walk your dog and still find the time to magically hit the target every time you wave it generally in the right direction. Just don't take them in the hills - you might scratch it and forever after every time you look at it, you will feel it judging you!
Hiya @Rushy, I was wondering when you would chime in with your experience with the Savage 110. My thoughts on the savage are summerised above

They are certainly fugly and rough and like a child that only a mother could love. Mind you reading your old post I am worried that my TRG hasn't cooked for me or walked the dogs.

Did you scratch your TRG? They start judging you after you scratch them and then you have to use them a lot to get them back on your side and cooking dinner again....

Thanks Craig, Timmay already mentioned me to your post... after i had already looked at it. Not what i am after i am afraid.
And if i am going to fork out several thousand dollars on a rifle then it had better be exactly what i am after other wise i'll simply be up for more cost to modify it to something i want. Buy once, cry once as they say.
