    300 wsm load data

Been working up loads for the 300wsm and thought I would share as data is hard to come by,
proj 168 gr nosler ballistic tip.
    win brass
    cci mag primer
    RL17 powder
    coal 74.4 mm
The following is data worked up am still developing with 3200fps as my goal.
    65g RL17 3003,3016,3037.
    65.5g RL17 3036,3079,3065.
    66g RL17 3122,3122,3129.
Have got some more loaded up but am waiting on the weather to improve to test will supply accuracy with these.
I am interested to see how hard you can push the 300 wsm.

with norma brass rl17 federal mag primer and 168 amax i was getting pressure signs at 67.5.
I settled on 66 grains at just over 3000fps which was my most accurate charge.

The norma brass is quite soft i have found but havent used anything else

I got a load going for my brothers 300 wsm T3. It has a 22 inch barrel and suppressor. 64 grains AR2209, 168 AMAX, Fed primer, Norma brass. Ended up at about 2975 fps. When it shot 4 shots into a bit over an inch at 400 yards I thought "fu*k me" this rifle is too good for my brother!

    Why?
The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds

Just found a new pet load for mine today. Tikka t3 300wsm
165 accubonds - 67.3gn rl-17 seated at 2.845" coal. 3240 fps and put 4 through the same hole at 100(started shooting at other targets coz I thought I was completely missing!) think il stick with this one.

Others ive had great success with though...

    168ttsx, 67.9 rl17 and 2.815 coal.they seem to like a bit of a jump into the lands. Also super accurate(touching holes at 100) 3220fps

165 targex hpld, 67.2gn rl17 and 2.87 coal. 3260 fps. Under 1" groups and real cheap projectiles(made locally too)

    175 lrx, 65.7gn rl17 and 2.845 coal. 3110 fps and just under 1" groups at 100

All in Norma brass with Fed premium 215 primers.Just remember I worked up to these and they are just under max for me so dont start here, work up to it.

The 168 bergers are pretty much the same as targex 165s. Id go with the targex though

Found RL-17 not that good in mine, I settled on RL22 and push the 208 along at 2800 no worries
Dont waste your time chasing every last fps, it doesnt matter in the real world, it wont make a difference, all it will do is cause head aches and frustrations. And dont listen to silly old cunts

If using the 208's, I presume you are using for a long range setup. What sort of rifle are you using and presume it is braked if using the 208's? Is it still grouping well if its doing 2800 fps?

That's fairly quiet isn't it? Can get that velocity with 308(but she's a stiff load!)

as i said its with the suppressor on its not a hot load but then speed doesn't generally always mean the best load developed for the said rifle Ive put less than 40 rounds through it and its hitting the mark at 300 meters so who wouldn't be happy with those sorts of results at this stage of its life ?????

True true Jonesy if its accurate its good and speed not that important just thought might as well make use of the huge case.
