Hiya just brought a 3006 tikka 20” of here anyone got a go to load with 2209 and 150gr nosler bt cheers

I use to do 56.5gr 2209 with 165gr bowler bt, accurate but not that fast ( was before easy access to chronographs )Also 60gr 2209 with 130gr Speer.

Buzz, use 60 grains. Start a 58 with a 150.
Should get 2900 plus. 3000 in a 24 inch tube.

Shot this load went 1/2” 4 shot group at 100yards and went 2880fps

I use 62 grains of 2209 and get 2980fps from a 22 inch barrel, for one inch groups with a 150 grain interlock. Been using it for years.

@buzzmann wern't you using 165's in your short barrel 308 and getting good results? Why not run them in the 3006?

Went to 150s for my daughter will probably go back up now to something bigger
