    Hi ODL,
    Set the Lehigh 194gr ME 2.270 OAL and are not crimped as it is a bolt gun. Not really doing anything special to the 5.56 LC cut brass except weighing them in two lots heavy and light weight cases and cleaning primer pockets/flash holes for each reload.

    Here is the best 100m target from this mornings testing, Hornady 150gr SST/ 9.9gr adi 2205, OAL 2.260

    This is the rig.

    @seano those look like the Tokoroa terrors I PM'd you about....

    In case you hadn't seen it lead cast bullets are now getting coated and they are seeing interesting results.

    Don't know anyone bringing these in @ODL But might be a good alternative for 300 users out there plinking away...

    Cheers for the info Tika. I will try that length next time around. Nice rifle setup!

    I wasn't aware of the 4 marks, ChrisF. The ones a mate sent me for trial don't have anything visible except a very small (.5mm) swage visible. Maybe he already did this. I will be loading in a dillion and wasn't planning on running through the die twice. I will have to suck it and see.

    My brass is mostly cut down 556 with no annealing.

    You're loading to a tool head length on a Dillon - a Lee crimp die is a really shit way of doing things. Added load and shorter/oversized cases when a case isn't in the crimp station.

    Change it out to a taper crimp die and forget about it.

    I've loaded 1000s of 300BLK on a Dillon

    Hi Seano ,what mold are those made on?? Biggest common .308 molds are about 200 grain.

    @seanoFound the mould https://www.facebook.com/appcastingco#
    i would love one of those 6 projectile molds. they have a nice 5.56/75 grain one also. Doesn't seem to have been much activity on their FB page, maybe they have stopped making molds? still $15 for 50 is not bad. I love casting but my two cavity lee mould is a slow way to make 195 grainers. they shoot OK but dont feed as well as pointed bullets.

    311 247Gr. FN 2 cavity PB w/HP (Whisper), NOE Bullet Moulds
    I might try and get one of these, if they will open at sub sonic velocities they will be deadly.

    Where are you guys getting the Leigh bullets from. May have to dust off my 30/223 if these bullets are readily available.

    Ps. That red dot sight is a great idea for a sub sonic rifle as shooting ranges are normally very close. Will do that to mine next.
