Question 300PRC hunting loads, who's using what?

As some have figured out, I'll be hand loading for a 300PRC soon.
It comes with loading data for 225gn eldm's at 2840fps using 2217 powder and Hornady brass.
I'll be tweaking the load anyway as I'll be running Lapua brass, just curious what others are using successfully, I'm a self confessed BC slut and there are certainly some very slippery options available
    So let's hear it ?

I've been using 230gr bergers and Atips in mine.
Found I had to go up .5gr of 2217 in Lapua brass to match the hornady brass velocity.

Mate uses the 225gr eld-m and 2225 in his,

What velocity is he getting with 2225 ?
Have to admit I am very tempted by the a tips but they are very speedy.....but then most things are when slinging big bullets

Imo any BC above the high 6s is nice to have but at that point it’s like comparing a Ferrari with a Porsche.

Your 225eldm data sounds pretty good to me tho, maybe try 2225instead if you want to tweak it a bit

This is what you can expect from heavy bergers. Pretty tame given the weight of the ‘frangable’ projectiles.

Pretty sure he's running his around 2800-2850fps. And he's used that along way out on game.

I'm was using the bergers as Workshop Innovations has them on special a few years back for $1 each, so brought x500. Same as the Atips, got them for a decent price and down to my last 100. Will be using the 225gr ELD-M once they are gone

looking at Hornandy Data there doesn't seem to be much in it between 2217/h1000 and retumbo/2225
both seem to achieve almost identical velocity just 2217/h1000 does it with slightly less powder.

Just got back in from playing around with mine. In the early phases of load development but 80gr 2225 with 212gr eldx is giving me 2860 out of a 26in barrel.. was hoping it might be a touch quicker but when ya look at how much power it has there probably isn’t a need to go much faster!

Another bullet I'm quite tempted to try is the Barnes 200gn LRX in a 24" barrel using h1000/2217 3000fps should be achievable and velocity wouldn't drop below 1600fps (Barnes' minimum velocity for reliable expansion) till about 970yards which is pretty damn impressive and would make it a formidable hunting round......just throwing ideas around while I wait for new toys to arrive

Federal have a hybrid projectile too, worth considering. Mind you it might be like fairy dust earlier on.

I think Barnes is a little ambitious with their minimum velocity’s, even something in the 180s if you were tempted with monos hammers seem easier accuracy to mate had very good luck with 210 and 215 bergers absolutely lethal
