No berger vldh available anywhere sadly.

These hammers look pretty good just a prohibitive to obtain especially for development purposes as costly to ship or just bite the bullet and order a few boxes to justify the shipping, but then it's a risk if they don't shoot or I don't like them.

Haha you can get a cream for that, clears things up super quick
Will be a couple weeks before my 300 turns up, then I've gotta set it up and tweak the load for the new brass, as long as you're not in a rush
Who knows we might be able to get @Tahr to slap some stuff on his order if he's getting more.

Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing, and right-doing, there is a field. I will meet you there.

Ok then some over here in Oz. Just mentioned them as their BC is better than Barnes.

Heard good things about Speer Impact bullets, in 308 dia they come in 172 gr and 190 gr. Not bad BC, around mid .500.
They are bonded, plastic tipped but they open up well at longer range when the speed bleeds off.
Price is around $85 for 50. One of the staff in TGA Hamills shot a nice stag this roar using a 172 gr out of his 16 inch 308 at about 2500 fps
At 200 yds it poleaxe it and he said the thump that came back was pretty impressive. The recovered projectile had open nicely back to half way down the shank with good cutting edges up front.I may get a box soon to try out in the 30 06 and 308.

Yup one of the options I'm considering playing around with, speer also make a 215gn 30cal impact, but it's not available as a component sadly, only comes in federal factory loads.

At least Speer products are well priced and by all accounts a very good accurate bullet, plus they seem to be more available these days.

I use 225 eldm, lapua brass and 2225 powder. work up to 79.7gn no pressure sign and same hole group. Haven’t checked the velocity yet, if I can get 2900fts with the 26 inches 1in8 twist barrel, I’ll be happy.
