If you can't be arsed reloading I can recommend them, loaded quite hot and coated in gold but work well

all in all there is not a huge amount in it bud.....

I agree not a huge amount in it, it's about making the rifle nicer to carry and shoot off hand by shortening the barrel whilst keeping the same or close to it performance. In the case of the heavier 30 cal pills it is and only ever so slightly better performance out of a shorter barrel. if I was only doing it for projectile performance and ballistics you're right not worth it/much in it, but when you add that it will make the rifle nicer to carry, travel with and shoot off hand these are the factors that I'm looking for.

will definitely be hand loading.

the 150grn NBT would still carry 1000ftlbs down to 1700ftps wwhich is 500 yards if starting out at 2600
the 140 grn NBT would still carry 1000ftlbs down to 1800ftps which is 500 yards if starting out at 2700

so piggy in middle says your 145 should be 1750ftps starting out at 2650 ftps...easy achievable for you even with 3" whacked off barrel LOL. you probably 200ftps quicker than that....

Anyone tried 2225 in 300WSM ?

Its too late Micky....he has tried 30 cal and seen the light.

Have you set your sights on 300wsm? If not if Definitely consider the 300 SAUM. Yeah little less case capacity, but you make up fot that by projectiles not robbing you of internal case volume. However if its on a long action youll be better with the wsm. Saum will have less recoil too i believe while still achieving what you are looking for.

yup set on the 300wsm, it's gonna be hard enough finding 300wsm brass let alone 300saum, at least with the WSM i can buy factory ammo to re use the brass.

the Sako a7 action is a medium length action, the mag is quite limiting but long enough

2225 is too slow burning for 300wsm. Especially with 160-180 grain bullets.

I had a long barrelled jobbie and seated out to nearly 3.200" inches, I could just about get enough 2217 in the case to match the speeds I could get with 2213sc. That was with a 208 pill.

2213sc or 2209 would be my pick for 160-180's. That should be backed up by ADI's load data if you go check their site.

yup it is, was just a thought as I have Kilo's of 2225 if I could've used it. At least 2225 is pretty tradeable I'm sure I'll be able to trade it ofr some 2209 when the time comes.
