Hey all I’m after a bit of advice i am running a browning 300wsm Xbolt with a 19.5 inch barrel and I’m currently running a 212 Eldx shooting a 9mm grouping my issue is the speeds are low at 2514 and I was curious to what other people are running or what people think would be a ideal projectile/powder for a out to 500 meter gun thanks in advance👍
I've heard that superformance is good for velocity in 300wsm but you'll only gain so much with such a short barrel and such a heavy pill. I had a sako 300wsm with a 19" barrel I ran 2209 and 178gn eldms which seemed to be a devastating combo.
I load for 3 x 300 wsm all 20 or 22" and all run 178 eldx or eldm and Hodgdon Superperformance at just under 3000fps

If you do the calcs on that speed and weight projectile, you’re good for a long way out past 500 metres. That’s a big slippery 30 cal pill

But if you want to change.
If you can get Reloder 17, you’ll get better velocities but I’d just be finding some 2209 and 178gr ELDX or ELDM projectiles.
You’ll find with that length barrel you should get around 2840 fps

9mm group? That’s really accurate, and you’ve got plenty of energy to get way out there. Play around with some other stuff, but I’d say that sort of accuracy is more valuable than a bit more speed and or energy.
