    308 with ttsx - 110 vs 130

G'day has anyone tried the 110ttsx in a 308. I have heard that the 130 is good but wonder if the 110 might be better as more velocity?
Running a 16 inch barrel, have cfe223 and win760 to try a load.

I think you will find both those powders a bit slow for 110g or even 130 gr especially the 760

You need to be looking at 2206h H335 BLC2 8208.

H335 and 2206h go good with the 130s

You will struggle to get enough 2206h in to achieve decent velocity so need to be looking up the burn rate to the likes of 8208 etc.

I get excellent accuracy from 45g 2306h in 16in barrel, not sure of speed but has killed well at bush ranges and little recoil,be ther accuracy than the 130s in my gun.

    Greetings Gkp,
ADI/ Hodgdons give data for the TSX 110 grain FB in their on line data. The best of the ADI/ Hodgdon powders seem to be Benchmark 2/ Benchmark and AR2219/ H322. Barnes also lists data for Benchmark. A couple of items to remember are that you need to use specific data for the Barnes projectile as they raise pressure and need to be seated with a jump to the lands of at least .05 inches (1.25mm). The Barnes web site gives some data on this.
    Happy loading and regards, Grandpamac.

Run the 110's in my kimber with BM2, recoil is much more pleasant than the 150 grains in this featherweight. Animals have all dropped on the spot or within 20m, only shot sika with that load so nothing bigger than 75kg-80kg or so. However judging by the pass throughs in virtually all cases larger game should be no worries. I was actually quite surprised how fast these put animals down with typical chest shots. At bush ranges where velocity is high I think you will find it hard to beat if you want low recoil and high velocity. Their BC isn't terrific though so might want to choose a different projectile if your chasing fallow or chamois in the windy open country down your way.

    Cheers @Calikiwi
I am also running them in a kimber. I intend to dual load. Have a good 168 eldm load for longer shots.

54 gr is listed as max for the 130gr at 3200fps from 24" and isnt listed for 110.

At a wild guess Id say your probably around 2800-2900fps.
