    .308Win - 150gn Whitetail bullets?

Hi guys. I have recently purchased a new .308 and have sighted it in and broken in the barrel using Hornady's Whitetail 150's, have any of you used or heard about them? I shot a stag last evening and it dropped in its tracks at about 200... Just considering loading is all, is this Interlock bullet all I need to take deer for the here and now...?
What would any of you more reloader experienced recommend to a non-reloader for the .308W? I reload my .270 so enjoy playing around just thinking of stepping into .308 as well.
    Thanks for any replies.

The interlock is a great bullet out of the 308win.

130gr Barnes ttx is brilliant 0-350 odd and will flatten your trajectory a Tad if driven hard.

168 178 amaxes work well at longer ranges.

130 in the .308? Be a tad faster but will it expand enough?
    Cheers.

Should have no trouble getting them up to 3100fps in standard length barrel.

Yeh, they are only the second type of tried in the breaking in process but the Whitetail were far more accurate than the Superperformance SST.
Just wondering about them as a projectile.
They worked well just getting complicated I suppose.

    Interlock Bullets work well….very well.

Personally I have shot Tahr, Chamois, Goats, Reds, Fallow, Sika, Rusa and a small Sambar with them. I handload the 6.5 129g version in a 6.5x55.

It will do everything you want within normal hunting ranges.

If they shoot well look no further

    Thanks.
Barnes for accuracy or the performance on deer? 150grains?
I've used Accubonds, GMX and gamekings in my .270 and 7mm08 but not in my .30.
Till I outlay I'll stick to these Whitetail's.
    cher boys.

No need for 150gr Barnes in nz.
I've been using the 130s for a number of years now and am still yet to recover one, that includes full body length penetration of wap cross stags.
Because they don't blow to bits they out penetrate far heavyr conventional bullets.
The only one i have seen recovered a friend lined up two hinds(not intentionally) in on the crease of both first dropped on the spot second went 15 odd yards and we found it just under the skin on the off side shoulder.

150 gr interlocts are the bomb in 308 and 30-06. Everything dies really quickly at all angles when you push it at 2700 to 3000 fps out to 400 metres

Thanks for the input. I've procured a packet of reloaded 130 Barnes TSX in front of 49.2 grains of 2208.
Will head to a mates to see how they shoot in morning then head out for the night to try and nail one.
    Thanks heaps.

I would be interested what velocity you get.
Were they loaded for your rifle?
Or a loaded round for "any" 308win?
