Brass is too expensive to push that hard. I have some brass that came with a 338 Lapua that can't be chambered the head has expanded soo much, I hate to think of the pressure those loads produced
Its possible that the brass had been fired in another rifle with a larger chamber.
I got a heap of fired Wsm brass from all over the place for my 510 Wsm.
Even after sizing there was up to 5 thou difference between some of the head sizes, tight chambers VS loose chambers.
There can be that much difference between head sizes among different brands of new brass
Of course the velocity advertised could be from an over enthusiastic chrony or seller
It is trade after all, the home of all rifles that have only shot 2 boxes of ammo

@Kiwi Greg You forgot that they all shoot 1 hole groups at 500yds - ïf the shooter does thier part"
I bought some once fired Lapua 338LM brass (factory loaded with 250gr projectiles) that had been run through a AIAW from memory. Needed to use a custom small base die to get it to chamber in my rifle (similar to what happens with 223 brass in military chambers). Can't believe that factory loaded Lapua would be over pressure.

If it's not a first round hit you need to practice more
Will a 338 Lapua improved clean up an edge chamber?
